Cashmere Sweaters Cashmere sweaters??? Does anyone out there know of another way to cleam my cashmere sweaters other than to take them to the cleaners. You can wash them by hand, do it very carefully in cold water with mild detergent, such as a baby shampoo or Ivory flakes. This method can keep your clothes soft for longer, but it can also change the shape if not done correctly. Soak the garment in warm water for 5 minutes. Then gently press the foam through the fibers and the light that you continue pressing the sweater rinse with warm water. Do not twist your sweater.
