Rickenbacker 4003 or Fender P-Bass Vintage 1957? My 1957 Fender bass guitar was the original P-Bass. I was forced to sell it to the person I bought it from and I ended up buying a low Ibanez GSR200 (I bought my earlier, back when they had only a volume and two tone Nobs). I'm in the market to buy a new bass guitar, and I'm torn between a Rickenbacker 4003 and a vintage / reissue 1957 Fender P-Bass. Both sound really good and looks equally impressive. The kind of music I play is very wide, ranging from the sock hop 60's music thrash / death metal. The music I is not playing country and blues. Opinions? Thoughts? Comments? All comments are welcome.
I had a few years ago Rick .......... for me sounds like a Ric Ric .... quite unique. I was in a lot of different music, and I found my Jazz bass more versatile then the RIC or low P I liked the Ric, but it was not really an instrument ROUND everything to me. I think the best thing is to go shopping for music and experiment with different bass / AMPS / effects to find the balance ..... ....... OR start buying different basses for different sounds. Expensive but fun !!!!!!!
Good luck
