'Martial arts: Karate Kendo Leafing through a martial arts magazine, one day, I came across the ugliest clothes I've ever seen: a uniform way to set the flag of the United States. Stars, stripes, everything was there. I think the worst image, and what causes it remain in my mind is the fact that the man wears the uniform of the scene was a kick up side. His position, unfortunately, allowed me to see that even if the uniform pants were mostly red and white, a field of blue with white stars were used to create the crotch. I still have nightmares.
Fortunately for everyone involved in martial arts, this monstrosity is the exception rather than the rule. 'Martial arts are usually rather austere and simple sets that allow movement and wearer comfort. There are, of course, a variety of martial arts there, and the name of the uniform varies not only by language, but my style martial. In karate, it is considered a "karategi;" in aikido as "aikidogi, tae kwon, a dobok" and so on.
Many of these uniforms are very similar in appearance, composed of losing, usually cotton pants with elastic waist or cord. The pants extend to the ankles and hang there, without elastic. The purpose of the summit of the clothing comes down from the hips and wraps around the body like a dress, the sleeves are usually at the wrists. The suit is set wrapped with links on both sides and with a belt, also of cotton, whose color signifies the rank of the wearer.
While most martial arts uniforms of this type are white, black is also relatively common. In some schools, once a student has reached the level of first dan black belt, he is allowed to wear black uniforms or black border. In the U.S., it is common for the name and logo of a particular school martial arts to be printed on the back of the uniform. This is particularly true of those schools that compete in tournaments.
A notable exception to the uniform described above clothing often used by practitioners of tai chi chuan and kung fu. These devices can be made from cotton, silk, but is often used as well. They can be almost any color imaginable. The pants are not very different from those described above. The top, however, is characterized by the frog buttons that often extend to the neck to hem. In addition, the summit is usually a traditional Chinese style necklace, similar to what one might see on a cheongsam.
Perhaps even more spectacular martial arts that is used in kendo. Kendo is the Japanese martial art of sword fighting. His clothing includes long pants that almost appear as full a skirt, a top similar to those worn in karate and Bagu, specially designed protective armor. A set of Bagu consists of a mask, shoulder pads, a chest protector, gloves, leg protectors, groin protector and shin sometimes. A warrior in full regalia Kendo is a very intimidating sight.
