Those who collect military badges do so for different reasons. There are those who have served in the army who are interested in collecting them in memory, so to speak.

Other collectors do in honor of family members who have served at one time or another.

A third group of collectors military insignia took a hobby because of their strong sense of patriotism. They do not necessarily come from a family with a military background, but want to honor all men and women who served our country, allowing us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.

There are many types of military insignia. The following information covers only a few of the many badges awarded to those who serve in the U.S. armed forces.

There are six different types of badges. These include: U.S. Department of Defense badges, badges army badges of the Navy, Air Force badges, insignia Marine Corps and Coast Guard insignia.

The Presidential Service Badge is awarded to both military and civilians who are employed as full-time military personnel to the President. These are the people who actually work at the White House.

Each badge is created for each particular audience and is stamped with its own unique serial number.

The badge can be presented to military and social aid, those assigned to the White House Communications Agency and the transport agency White House ... to name a few.

The Presidential Service Badge may be worn on a military uniform, even after the termination of employment. The award is considered a personal decoration in the records of a service as well.

Several separate branches of the military issues the Flight Surgeon Badge for those who are qualified flight surgeons and physicians. It was first published in the Second World War by the army.

There are several qualifications that must be met to be eligible for the Flight Surgeon Badge. Depending on the branch of service, there are different views associated with it.

The Army and Air Force that the badge issue basic Senior or Master. The Navy and Coast Guard award it a single degree. The Marine Corps does not issue the award, because they do not maintain their own medical division.

The Naval Flight Officer Astronaut Badge is issued by the Navy and Marine Corps. It is a badge chest containing a pair of golden wings, crossed anchors and a shield.

The beneficiaries are those who have qualified as a naval flight officers, after a lot of training. This training includes: aviation, aviation, electronic warfare and tactical deployment of weapons.

The Air Force Academy Professor Badge was created in 1980 to recognize the Air Force officers who are full-time faculty at the U.S. Air Force Academy. This badge is a permanent decoration of any official who holds a graduate degree.
