The abuse began early in the life of Samantha \ '.

She grew up in a provincial town, the fourth child of alcoholic parents. Being the youngest in his family meant that she was most vulnerable to sexual violence, physical and emotional attacks on both his mother, father and family friend.

Sam's father \ 'was a violent man, threatening when he drank. He was well known to police and often spent time at "cooling off" in their cells. It has been a constant source of fear at home and repeated attacks of violence on our family would lead my mother to move children in the escapades of skiing. He would always find us. Sam's mother \ 'lived with the fear that somehow, we not only find but to destroy what she had worked hard for - the love of another.

Growing up the mother of Sam \ 'seems to be constantly drunk. She was a paranoid, unstable, violent and manipulative woman desperately forcing his entourage to constantly feed his need for emotional support. She was an expert in the emotional mind games, and Sam was often used as a pawn in negotiations dramatic, violent fighting broke out between the mother and father and later stepfather.

Deprived of the love of a husband, she looked at me instead of to help meet all their needs.

And then there were abuses by friends of the family - he never seemed to stop.

A love of hungry children would turn into a desperate woman is scared and suicidal. But by the power of prayer and the grace of God, the woman would change and become a loving wife and mother of five beautiful children. It is a story of grace and lasting goodness of God - and a love that comes to us from eternity past and the present.
