I have been working short-term contracts abroad. I still quit after a year or before. Now people will not hire me. What can I do?
Employers are skeptical about hiring "jobhopper." I read a good book a few months ago the local library. It was called "Nobody hire me. This explains the red flags to get rid of employers may have doubts to hire you. You can read it for detailed advice, but here is a very good start.
When requests to be fulfilled: when asked why you left your last employer, do not "leave" as the reason. Just put "of short-term contract" they will think you've completed the work at the end and that will at least get an interview (hopefully) and you can explain away the rest.
When quiting jobs, do you give 2 week notice? If not, start doing. Do not burn bridges behind you. You never know when you can work for the company again.
If you get an interview, do not speak ill of the previous employer. Do not blame the employers or others of your actions. This shows immaturity. Take the responsibility to stop smoking, you say immature (if any), but somthing has changed (maybe just open your eyes quit model you want to modify) and you are now wanting a long-term employment with the company you are applying. Learn about the company if you have an interview. Tell them all the reasons why you want to work for them .... they have a good reputation, you have friends who say they are a great comapny to work for .... this kind of thing. Show interest and enthusiasim for work and society.
After working off shore, maybe you can answer some questions for me? Does Secretary / positions on desktop platforms? Can you give me some job leads? Name of offshore companies, this kind of thing?
change jobs. Obviously, you're not satisfied, do something!
