Speedometer Calibration

I got a ticket for 50 in a 35 and I wanted to know how can I get papers to show that the calibration is showing at least at my speedometer as the car goes, even if the speedometer is accurate. Anything that would help .. thank you

The easiest thing to do is get on the Interstate. Bring a stopwatch. Each mile is marked on the side of the road, set your cruise control at 60 mph and the trip the stopwatch when you pass a mile marker. It should take exactly 60 seconds to get to the next. You can then calculate the error based on the number of seconds it takes to cover the mile.

If you were caught going 50 in a 35, you're not likely to get the ticket dismissed .... radar guns are very accurate.

Do not be smarta $, but you already have a document that shows how fast you go. Do you remember your Speedo has been recording? And just because your meter is off does not mean you can get out of the ticket. If you want to check the speedometer calibration, get a laptop with GPS function Speedo or make friends with a cop and do some calibration work with him.
