Olympic Ironies of uniform issues There was a time when people did not care what clothes they wear and how they look with it. There was also a time when competitors in the Olympic Games did not just care about their appearance and it would wear their clothes to their performance. There was even a time when clothing is simply an option to cover the athletes intimate body parts where you can see all the sports bras and sport shorts are short. All these, like the leaders of the IOC, now comes a little twist when some athletes and other professionals on corporate uniforms have expressed little concern over other athletes how to dress especially the dress they wear.
The issues are technical and scientific concern and others are purely traditional fabrics are not ethical. Not known to many, there were stories that were blogged on the Internet about how a gymnast at the Olympics in Beijing in 2008 was treated because of the dressing. Some conservative countries reacted, but just for a fair competition, they complied with the decision. The gymnasts, especially girls, were not allowed to wear anything but their jerseys. According to Wikipedia, the rules on clothing for gymnastics are very strict they deduct points for a player who violates the principles.
Among the most controversial issue on uniforms has been received from some officers wore uniforms of some corporate country swimwear upscale used by the U.S. team for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games final. NASA has even made a post about the new swim wear as the U.S. contingent will be used for that event with Michael Phelps as one of the endorsers and later by the user that gear. The outcome of the case is somehow not clear with the U.S. team, which still able to use the swimsuit and with Phelps breaking his own record for collecting the most medals at the Olympics.
Most recently, however, just the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Now he has nothing to do with the dynamics of the clothing or the rules of the sport uniform, but the tradition that embodies the sport and dress allegedly used in such sport. That's when Nate Holland reacted when his most loved sport - snowboarding - is now playing with race suits rather than jeans and conventional products in bulk like that. Well, he and his colleagues from the clamor of a stricter rule limiting or prohibiting the use of tight pants in the prestigious Olympic race.
The irony is that if Phelps and his colleagues fought to pursue a swim gear that can help the athlete to accelerate using the advantage of studying physics while Holland would see other athletes in his irreverent sport for sport using combinations of speed. Holland and Phelps are both from the United States and represents the country at the Olympics.
It should, however, the athletes, their teachers, and the committee will consider the merits of each issue being thrown over. It is also preferable to return from the time when people compete without much regard to their appearance during the game.
