Vinyl DressKeep It Simple: Straight Talk about dressing for rubber, plastic and vinyl

Always ride at your local auto parts for car care supplies, for example - dressings for tires, trim or your home? With the wide range of products available, it is confusing for the very least!

Given your choice, together with all packaging slick, hard to see sizes, and pretty pictures - all these products are competing for your hard earned money. The result is a confusion of the proceeds to buy what the application. Do you use the same product to dress up and protect tires as you do for your leather seats?

Let's keep it simple, people! This is not rocket science - we are talking dressings. Hopefully this article gives an overview of choosing the right product for the right job.

There are basically two types of Bandages - Bandages water based and solvent based dressings. So look what we have done here - all grouped into two sauces options. I do not know about you, but I can get my arms around two pretty easy choice. We all like to keep things simple.

The solvent and water based dressings have their place and their use, and have different properties, advantages and disadvantages. In keeping with our "simple" and as a general rule subject, here is the skinny: Water Use Based on the dressings inside your vehicle and solvent based dressings on the outside. Pretty simple, is not it?

Why indoor / outdoor choice, you ask? Simple! When the water reaches a water-based dressing - it tends to fall, fall apart, poof - gone. Water-based dressings are not generally withstand the elements, as well as solvent-based dressings do.

Bandages based solvents tend to repel water, much like water beading on a waxed finish your car. In my opinion, solvent-based dressings also provide a richer gloss and as doing an excellent job of bringing the demise of vinyl and rubber generally seen outside of your vehicle. The bottom line is that Solvent based dressings are more durable and more sustainable when continuously exposed to the elements.

- In a little more detail on the water-based dressings

Most dressings available in retail stores are available in a form ready for use. The downside to this is if you do not include the arrival of these products, you're stuck with it. For example, you may want more of a matte finish instead of an out-of-bottle of glossy product could provide. You figure, because it is water based, you should dim with water, right? Not at all.

Most of these dressings are not designed to be mixed with water, and now you have worthless bottle. In addition, we have all had the experience when these dressings never really dry to the touch and become a magnet for dust great. Well, you figure, both for training and the protection of your home, right? Not at all!

The water-based dressings that professionals use actually dry to the touch and are designed to be mixed with water to give you the exact finish you want. But the best part is that they do not cost more than their counterparts in retail!

- A little more about solvent based dressings

Solvent based dressings tend to do a better job at restoring faded trim and plastic, offer excellent UV protection and are easy to apply. For the finish you want, instead of diluting these products as water-based dressings, simply wipe the dressing with an applicator for finish. More equivalent to a higher gloss, decreased less brilliant. For those who want a high gloss on the tires, just spray the dressing and allow to dry. For those who prefer a lower gloss, wipe the dressing when wet to get the desired finish.

In addition to tires, a g.
